Pets are great to have in the home. Millions of people have pets around and it’s fabulous. They are loyal, friendly, and can be a great addition to the family. But there’s one downside to having pets inside your house and that’s in regard to stains, accidents, and more. You may love your pet and you may give them all the greatest things but they may still miss the litter box or, worse yet, do their business on your flooring or carpet. When these things occur you will need to focus on cleaning properly, or the stain and smell could cause a great deal of headache. With that in mind, consider a few notes on how to clean up properly, so that you don’t have to deal with this issue for too long.
Baking Soda Works Wonders For Urine
Urine smell and stains can be rough. However, you can use baking soda to pull out both the stain and the smell. You’ll want to dilute vinegar in warm water and use that to blot and spray the area that has been stained and wet. Once it dries a little add baking soda to the carpeting and then vacuum it up after it is completely dry. You’ll find that the baking soda will pull the stain up and that the vinegar will help neutralize the smell, leaving you with no more urine issues.
Spot Cleaning With Soap
Liquid dish soap can help you get light stains out assuming you don’t use too much or soak the carpet or floor with water. Mix a little soap and warm water together and then use a sponge to blot the area. Do not soak it however as you’ll want to get only a little bit of soap into the fibers or the flooring’s surface. Once you do this dry it up by blotting the area with paper towels and the stain should lift without any major odor. If you find that there’s still a stain however, one option is to work with salt. You can add salt to the odor area, and then vacuum it up after a few hours.
Baking Soda Based Products
There are several baking soda products on the market that you can use, aside from just the soda itself. You’ll find that there are urine stain removers, litter box deodorizers, and much more that you can use. Just baking soda with a little water however can form a good paste with which to clean. You can also use vinegar and water as a spray solution and the paste as a cleaning element after the fact. Either way baking soda, water, and vinegar all work well with combating pet issues.
